    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2009
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Exaggerated and overblown, with assertive smoky, mealy and toffee-like winemaking influences that tends to exaggerate its slightly dull, marmalade-like fruit. Pungent and spicy, with notes of cloves, ginger, grilled nuts and green olives, it does reveal some waxy development. Quite viscous, cloying and raw-edged, it finishes with fatness and insufficient length or freshness.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2010
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very evolved, waxy and oxidative, with a spicy, lanolin-like bouquet of brown apple, apricot and white peach, vanilla oak and dried flowers backed by suggestions of clove and cinnamon. It’s round and generous, with a deep, powerful presence of apple, melon and citrusy fruit backed by creamy, slightly meaty and leesy notes, finishing long and savoury.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2011
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Round and generous, but rather unpolished and awkward, with an emphasis on the development of wild, funky complexity at the expense of freshness and finesse. Its pungent, creamy and slightly meaty bouquet of stonefruit, melon and grapefruit precedes a brassy and heavy-handed palate whose creamy peach/melon flavour is partially submerged by bacony, mineral and butterscotch-like complexity, finishing with edgy raw aspects.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2012
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

An oxidative and oaky chardonnay thatÕs presently a little awkward. Dusty, clove-like aromas of melon and grapefruit, peach and pear are lifted by scents of dried flowers and buttercups. ItÕs medium in weight, fine and elegant, with a long, tangy palate of grapefruit and peach flavour accompanied by assertive, slightly edgy vanilla oak. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it finishes long and textured. Give it time.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2013
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Waxy, spicy and slightly oxidised aromas of restrained melon, peach and pear reveal nuances of marmalade, wheatmeal and nutty, creamy yeast-derived undertones. Initially round and juicy, itÕs broad and buttery with notes of brown apple, creamy complexity and assertive oak extending towards a savoury finish rather lacking in freshness and tightness. Its fruit and flavours could have perhaps been better protected.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2014
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Broad, round and sweetly fruited, with generous peach, grapefruit flavour, creamy yeast-derived complexity and butterscotch malolactic influences, itÕs luscious and forward but lacks true shape and focus, becoming rich and blousy and finishing without the tightness and shape of the finest contemporary chardonnay.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2015
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Heavily worked, with spicy, cinnamon-like notes of peach, grapefruit and vanilla oak, itÕs savoury and gentle but dries out towards an oaky, overworked finish that lack freshness and length.

    Moss Wood Wilyabrup Chardonnay 2016
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Heavily worked, with loads of winemaking artefact, this round and fleshy chardonnay is somewhat cloaked by its assertive vanillin and cashew-like oak and despite its rightness and roundness will evolve rather quickly in a more oxidative style.
