  • Clarnette Grenache 2022
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $39.00

Scented with musky spices, rose petals, dark cherries and whiff of blueberry, it’s smooth, supple and gentle, with a powdery spine of loose-knit tannins that will build more firmness with time. Gentle, unctuous, easy-paced and packed with perfectly ripened fruit, it finishes quite savoury in a southern Rhone-ish style, with a lingering core of flavour, mouthwatering acids and a suggestion of red licorice. Recently opened, it was at its best of Day 3, which gives you some idea of its quality, balance and ageability. A totally unexpected pleasure.

  • Clarnette Ludvigsen Shiraz 2020
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $65.00

A product of its vintage, with a promisingly musky, floral and spicy bouquet of dark berries and plums backed by earthy, meaty notes. It’s medium to fullish in weight, with a very firm, drying and rod-like spine that’s a little at odds with the laid -back nature of its fruit. It finishes a little hard, without great drive of flavour.

  • Clarnette Shiraz 2021
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $33.00

Western Victorian shiraz meets a little European style and elegance. A bouquet of cassis, mulberries, blueberries and dark plums knit with cedar/chocolate oak is laced with spice and cracked pepper. Medium to fullish in weight, it’s long and richly fruited, extending down a powdery spine towards a savoury and charmingly balanced finish of mouthwatering acids.

  • Clarnette Shiraz 2024
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $35.00

Heady and floral, this deep, dark shiraz of medium to fullish weight reveals spicy, peppery aromas of intense, pastille-like black, red and blue fruits backed by cedary oak. It’s soft, round and plump, with a core of silky fruit underpinned by a fine, drying mineral spine that carries the palate to a long, spicy finish of red licorice, cola and mineral. There’s a lot of very classy shiraz here for its price. And in 2-3 years there will be even more!

  • Clarnette Viognier 2022
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $36.00

A spicy scent of white peach, apricot and tangerine lifted by musky, floral aromas precede a long and very restrained palate whose shape and restraint present an appealing alternative to the more oily and coarse expression of many viogniers. It’s savoury, dry and lively – a positive match for many sweet and spicy Asian dishes.
