A long, silky and slightly herbal Great Western shiraz whose vibrant and pristine perfume of violets, cassis, blackberries and mulberries is packed with sneezy black pepper and lifted by sweet vanilla/chocolate oak. Arrestingly musky and spicy, it’s penetratively flavoured with small black and blue berry flavours over nuances of licorice and forest floor. It’s elegantly structured around a fine-grained spine of smooth tannins. Simultaneously concentrated, supple and nimble, it’s certain to develop exceptionally well in the bottle.

  • Seppelt St Peters Shiraz 2002
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Seamless, pristine Great Western shiraz whose floral, rose garden-like aromas of pristine but briary dark berry fruits are packed with pepper and musky spices and backed by a charcuterie-like meatiness. Its long, fine and seamless palate effortlessly delivers sumptuous flavours of exceptional purity over bony, powdery tannins, culminating in a long, savoury finish of exceptional persistence. A perfect reflection of terroir, and a truly great natural wine.

  • Seppelt St Peters Shiraz 2003
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A closed, dark and brooding shiraz whose bouquet is deeply layered with dark berries, cherries and chocolate, and backed by cinnamon-like spice and tightly integrated cedary oak. Smooth and savoury, its complex and tightly integrated palate steadily builds in weight and firmness down the palate. There’s a meaty, wild and briary aspect about its dark plum and berry fruit, neatly entwined by tannins of velvet smoothness but a talcum-like persistence. It’s genuinely firm and superbly structured, a wine that will gradually unfold and reveal its qualities over many, many years.

  • Seppelt St Peters Shiraz 2004
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A brilliant combination of pristine, dark-fruited and deeply spiced shiraz with firm, fine-grained tannin that will live long into the future. Heavily scented with black pepper and spice, its dense, still rather closed bouquet of deep dark berry aromas reveals assertive meaty, charcuterie-like complexity. Silky-smooth, its supremely elegant palate of sour-edged blackberry, mulberry and dark plum flavours and subdued and tightly knit oak builds towards a long, licorice-like finish.
