A sumptuous but well focused and elegant chardonnay with a lightly buttery and toasty fragrance of honeysuckle, peach and fresh melon above suggestions of grilled nuts, cloves and cinnamon. The palate is juicy, round and generous, offering a chewy combination of ripe varietal fruit, sweet oak and a restrained butterscotch malolactic influence, before finishing soft and creamy.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2004
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A taut, shapely ad crystalline chardonnay whose nutty aromas of jasmine, white peaches, cinnamon and cloves reveal suggestions of butter, cashews and minerals. Its elegant and sculpted palate presents a vibrant and juicy expression of quince, peach and pineapple fruit before a fine and racy finish of refreshing acidity.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2005
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A major step forward for this label, and one of the tightest and most refreshing Australian chardonnays on the market. Its floral, lemony, limey and mineral aromas reveal undertones of matchstick oak, lightly funky leesy undertones. Taut and focused, its long and lean palate of intense lemon and grapefruit flavour reveals wheatmeal undertones and delivers some baby fat-like richness in the middle before a sculpted and almost austere finish of limey acids.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2006
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Delicate, floral and mineral, with aromas of white peach, mango and lightly creamy vanilla oak preceding an elegant palate whose initial attack of fresh citrus, melon and mango-like flavour becomes a little thin in the middle. It could yet flesh out with more buttery richness, but its edges are presently a little greenish, sappy and awkward, and its finish slightly metallic.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2007
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very stylish and focused, this finely textured chardonnay reveals a nutty, smoky fragrance whose fresh lemon, melon and lavender-like aromas are backed by toasty oak and nuances of wheatmeal. Long and crystalline, its vibrant palate of stonefruit and citrus flavours is tightly supported by lightly chalky phenolics and a fine minerality. It finishes with lingering fruit, soft acids and plenty of flavour. Delightfully focused and balanced.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2008
    Jeremy’s score 86/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Smoky, creamy, and leesy, this heavily worked chardonnay has a powerful butterscotch and bacony bouquet that tends to overshadow its stonefruit aromas. Forward and quite rich, it becomes finer and more even down the palate but remains dominated by assertive malolactic characters that obscure its fresh peachy flavours. It finishes with slightly green-edged acids.

  • Seppelt Jaluka Chardonnay 2009
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Bright, intense and mineral, with a fragrance of grapefruit, lemon and white peach backed by restrained vanilla oak, minerals and ginger. Its lively presence of crystalline fruit is tightly knit with smooth, creamy oak and wrapped in a fresh, racy lemony acidity.
