Complex, meaty, older style of cabernet with leathery aromas of dark olives, cinnamon and prunes. Firm and meaty, it is a firmly structured, chewy and astringent red that might lack primary fruit, but should slowly develop softness and complexity.
A restrained, harmonious and finely balanced long-term red whose fragrant bouquet of cassis, sweet red cherries and vanilla/cedar oak is lifted by a violet-like perfume. Silky and smooth, its fresh and fine-grained palate of vibrant cassis, dark cherry and mulberry flavour is supported by chocolate/vanilla oak and some surprisingly firm tannin. Polished and quite classy, it’s likely to develop pleasing complexity with age.
Framed by fine, firm and bony tannins and backed by rather restrained and cedary oak, this is a typically smooth and supple Coonawarra cabernet of medium to full weight. Its dusty, spicy and herbal aromas of violets, dark plums, blackcurrants, red berries and dark chocolate reveal a slight meatiness, while its palate is finely balanced but reveals a somewhat cooked aspect.
Rather old-fashioned, this elegant and slightly jammy cabernet is underpinned by a fine, drying backbone and knit with restrained, older oak influences. It needs time to develop more complexity and perfume, but is already scented with a dusty, slightly herbal expression of small dark berries, cedar and violets. Its forward flavours of cassis, mulberries and plums ease into a more savoury and meaty finish.
Elegant, fine and supple, this reserved, tight and powdery cabernet is focused around a restrained core of intense, dark but very slightly baked fruit. Its slight leafy and floral bouquet of briary small berries and cedary oak precede a long, smooth and creamy palate supported by fine, dusty tannins.
