A warmer year wine, structured more like a firmer Barossa expression, with a meaty bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, cassis and mulberries knit with smoky dark chocolate and coffee grounds-like oak and backed by musky spices. Long and luscious, itÕs juicy and confiture-like, with ripe, sweet-fruited shiraz and assertive oak framed by firm, powdery tannins. It finishes with earthy, meaty complexity.
Smooth and savoury, this pliant young shiraz has a minty, floral and musky bouquet of fresh blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, newish sweet oak and a hint of tomato stalk. Underpinned by firm, fine and drying tannin, itÕs still quite polished and generous, revealing a long, lingering presence of dark, briary fruits that finishes with a pleasing meatiness plus a hint of licorice and menthol.
Smooth and tightly integrated, with a deep, spicy and peppery bouquet of blackberries, cassis, dark plums and sweet cedar/chocolate oak overlying nuances of mint and menthol, vanilla and licorice. Underpinned by fresh mocha-like oak, itÕs smooth, ripe and fine-grained, medium in weight, finishing with a pleasing length, soft acids and tightness.
A very ripe, jammy shiraz of smoothness and approachability. Its peppery aromas of blackberries, dark plum and cassis are handsomely backed smoky, creamy mocha/cedar oak and chocolatey, meaty nuances. Warm and fractionally spirity, its smooth, generous palate of dark plums and berries has a fine, pliant undercarriage and a soft, slightly baked finish.
Smooth and savoury; peppery and briary, laced with blood plums, cassis and mulberries.
Developing well, with slightly splintery oak . Complex buttery nose of roasted hazelnuts, quince and figs with fresh creamy leesy notes. Ripe and succulent, good viscosity and length with ‘baby fat’ creaminess. Citrus peel finish with tight mineral acids.
Now developing golden tinges, a less distinctive wine with a nose of figs, peaches, dried apples and tobacco leaves. Forward, developed and a little disjoined, the palate has evolved toffee characters, some disjointed alcohol and finishes a little short.
