Scented with blueberries, blackberries, chocolate oak and cracked pepper backed by nuances of licorice and graphite, this full to medium-bodied red reveals a moderate length of dark plums, cassis and smooth oak supported by fine, sandpapery tannins. It finishes with fresh acids but lacks the drive of flavour for a higher rating.
Firm, drying and astringent; robust and ageworthy, with a robust, kernelly spine and a ripe, chunky core of cherry tomato and cherry-like fruit. Good, but more of a dry red.
Heavy and forward, slowly revealing length and fruit sweetness, itÕs heady and deeply perfumed, with spicy, faintly charry aromas of rose petals, bacon, small red berries and cherries. Long and impactful, its slowly reveals a deep core of fruit underpinned by drying, kernelly tannin. A little chunky for a higher rating.
While itÕs rather linear and dry red-like in structure, thereÕs a genuine pinot flavour profile about this wine whose deep aromas of beetroot and black cherries, plums and slightly smoky, cedary oak are lifted by attractive scents of dark flowers. Supported by a powdery, wet slate-like backbone and savoury, spicy oak, itÕs long, juicy culminates in a lively finish of refreshing acidity.
Spotlessly clean, this medium-bodied red wine has a peppery, licorice-like bouquet of sweet black and red cherries backed by smoky mocha oak. Long and linear, with pristine cherry/plum fruit and firmish tannins, it extends with spicy blueberry-like flavour but lacks pinot-like flesh and vivaciousness.
Pristine aromas of morello cherries, raspberries and redcurrant are lifted by scents of red flowers and tight vanilla oak. Initially juicy and generous, its cherry/berry and citrusy flavours, dry out marginally down a loose-knit spine, finishing soft and gentle. Lacks genuine pinot precision.
An honest, spicy and tomatoey Adelaide Hills pinot whose minty expression of red cherries, redcurrants and cranberries reveals undertones of baked earth, cinnamon and cola. Supported by fine, slatey tannins, itÕs more dry red-like than having much to say about pinot noir as a variety.
Simple, jammy and confectionary, with dark cherry fruit and smoky cedar/vanilla oak underpinned by notes of cola and spice. Initially juicy and plump, it becomes stripped and attenuated down the palate, finishing short and charry.
