A steamroller of a northern Barossa shiraz – plush and densely packed with brooding tarry, dark berry, cherry and plum-like flavour smoothed out by chocolatey, coffee grounds-like oak and supported by an underswell of fine, kernelly tannins that become more mineral with breathing. Laced with dark pepper and exotic spice, it’s smoky and briary, unfolding notes of roast meats, boot polish and walnuts beneath its generous dollops of plush, fiery fruit. Its exceptional texture, structure and balance stamp it as a high-level Dave Powell wine.
Expressive, bloody and powerfully varietal, it unfolds an earthy, spicy bouquet of redcurrants, blood plums and smoky, cedary oak backed by ferrous and charcuterie-like notes plus a whiff of paprika. Medium to fullish in weight, it’s long and controlled, with a handsomely oaked and fiery core of redcurrants, red cherries and blood plums framed by firmish, drying tannins and finishing with a measured and savoury seamlessness.
Unctuous, opulent, smoky and perfumed; saturated with blackberries, cassis, dark plums and black cherries; velvet smooth but becomes more mineral down the palate; long and seamless, with layers of fruit, pliant tannins and smoky mocha oak.
An opulent, heady, smoky and mineral bouquet of cassis, blackberries, redcurrants and blueberries is lifted by notes of cracked pepper, roasted chestnuts and dark flowers, all supported by the most remarkable of charry, tight-knit oak. There are also suggestions of eastern spices and old Puer tea. It’s impossibly intense and generous, but simultaneously fine and restrained, delivering an elegant, effortless presence of handsomely oaked vivacious dark fruits backed by notes of smoke, minerals and briar, all wound around a fine-grained spine of artfully integrated drying tannins. Ready to enjoy any time over the next 40 years, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece.

Ferrous and minty, laced with blood plums, redcurrant, five spice, baked earth and dried herbs; smooth, long and luscious, becoming firmer and more robust towards the finish.
A complete and more assertive Eden Valley shiraz whose dark, briary and mineral aromas of plums, cassis, blackberries are knit with faintly smoky, charry chocolate/mocha oak. A long, plush and vivacious presence of pristine and faintly sour-edged dark fruit is supported by a typical powdery/mineral spine, culminating in a lingering and refreshing finish of finely balanced acidity. Simultaneously rich, powerful and stylish.
Luscious, mouthfilling and explosively intense, steeped in musky spice and potpourri-like florals, with vivacious citrus and melon-like fruit knit with creamy nougat notes, finishing long and savoury.
Deeply ripened, aromatic and densely packed aromas of blackberries, dark plums and cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak reveal suggestions of minerals and smoke. Its long, luscious core of pastille-like and faintly sour-edged small black and blue fruits overlies a fine, drying and almost ferrous backbone, finishing with lingering notes of roasting meats, spice and licorice. Finely balanced and artfully oaked.

An artful, luscious, deeply layered and Rhone-inspired marsanne whose waxy, creamy fragrance of honeysuckle, lemon nougat, yellow flowers and lime juice reveals notes of brulee, corindader, marzipan and mineral. Round and generous, it’s mouthfilling and beautifully weighted, with a smooth, creamy and toasty core that extends long and savoury towards a refreshing finish of mouthwatering acids. Keep this away from the kids.
