Wonderfully balanced, smooth and composed chardonnay of seamless length and exceptional concentration. Its youthful aromas of tropical fruits, melon and white peach reveal underlying notes of chalk and minerals, with reserved oak influences and suggestions of cashew. Its long, sumptuous baby fat-like palate of sweet melon and tangy tangerine flavours culminates in a tight and harmonious finish with lingering mealy and nutmeg-like subtleties.
A superbly composed, sumptuous and seamless chardonnay that marries perfectly focused white peach, nectarine and grapefruit flavours with a nutty creaminess and tight, flinty acids. Piercingly intense fruit is carefully backed by restrained butter/vanilla oak, and the long, silky and harmonious palate finishes clean and savoury, with nutty complexity.
A beautifully composed, complete and finely crafted chardonnay that simply needs time to flesh out and deliver on its considerable early promise. A floral, nutty perfume of peach, melon, grapefruit and guava reveals undertones of wheatmeal, vanilla, cloves and cinnamon. Silky, long and supple, its tightly crafted marriage of lingering stonefruit, grapefruit and melon-like flavour and restrained oak culminates in a taut and persistent finish of refreshing acidity.
Very restrained, reserved and distinctively individual, this beautifully textured chardonnay has a dusty, cinnamon-like scent of white peach, nectarine, grapefruit and ginger deftly integrated with creamy, vanilla oak. Long and seamless, with a creamy, nougat-like presence of bright citrus and melon flavour tightly knit with matchstick oak and underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it’s supple and savoury, finishing with a lingering core of fruit, a fresh, focused acidity and a lick of wet slate.
Very classy, superbly balanced and complete, with a complex bouquet of white peach, nectarine and grapefruit underpinned by nougat-like, creamy, leesy undertones and a hint of smoked bacon. Long and elegant, its brightly flavoured presence of citrusy fruit has an appealing plumpness and oak sweetness tightly reined in by trim, nervy acids. Supported by a fine mineral chalkiness, it extends long and focused towards a finely crafted and savoury finish with a lingering briny aspect.
Complex and evolved with a waxy, nutty bouquet whose restrained aromas of grapefruit, melon and lemon are backed by subtle creamy vanilla oak and suggestions of cinnamon, clove and ginger. Its smooth, deeply flavoured and unctuous palate of melon, peach and nutty, nougat-like complexity drives seamlessly over a fine chalkiness towards a smooth, refreshing and savoury finish of lemony acids.
Powerful and assertive, this complex, fuller and rounder Mount Mary Chardonnay has a faintly mineral fragrance of citrus, melon and stonefruit backed by creamy, buttery vanilla oak and smoky, cheesy and floral nuances. It slowly unfolds a generous, if faintly oily and smoky palate whose rich fruit overlies ham hock-like influences and is tightly wrapped in a brisk acidity. It will take time to find balance and lose some youthful awkwardness, but it will!
Classic Yarra chardonnay of purity and drive. Tightly knit with faintly smoky vanilla/bubblegum oak, its pristine aromas of white peach, grapefruit and creamy nougat undertones are lifted by scents of clove, nutmeg and cucumber. Long and brightly lit, its elegant presence of peach, pear, apple and a hint of matchstick oak extends with just a little fatness towards a brittle finish of lemony acidity. It leaves a lingering hint of funk and suggests spectacular cellaring potential.
