  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2001
    Jeremy’s score 96/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Delicate fragrance of violets and cassis, plums and lightly chocolatey cedar/vanilla oak. Smooth and supple, with an almost searing intensity of pure blackcurrant and mulberry flavours, given the extreme fineness and silkiness of the palate. Supremely long and tight-knit, with an underlying spine of finely astringent tannins. A classic house style, destined for a long cellar-life.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2004
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Dusty, lightly herbal aromas of small black and red berries, crushed violets and cedar/vanilla oak reveal hints of vegetal undertones. Long, smooth and complete, its fine, powdery palate delivers a fresh expression of forest berry flavour backed by cedar/vanilla oak and framed by dusty tannins. There’s an undercurrent of dried herbs and forest floor-like complexity. Very stylish, but too herbal for a higher score.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2005
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A deep ruby red, with a dusty, slightly leafy and meaty bouquet of sweet berries and plums, well handled oak. It reveals a slightly under and overripened aspect that appears faintly metallic. Very tight and closed, it slowly presents deep mulberry, cassis and raspberry-like fruit that in the bottle tasted seems to be drying out possibly due to brett-like influences. The wine seems to have the depth, structure and balance to cellar well Ð the only question mark being the possible microbiological issue potentially present.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2006
    Jeremy’s score 96/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Simply a superlative cabernet blend of first-rate elegance, integration and harmony, itÕs deeply scented with a heady perfume of violets, cassis, mulberries, cedar and dark chocolate, with dusty undertones of dried herbs. Underpinned by a firm but fine-grained spine of crunchy tannin, its long, deep and piercingly intense palate of sour-edged fruit and tight-knit oak culminates with a terrific, finely balanced finale of flavour, texture and acidity.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2007
    Jeremy’s score 72/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

It is unfortunate that this profoundly smoke-tainted and green-edged wine was released because I deeply respect this label and its proud heritage. It finishes with dirty, acrid notes of dark plums and berries.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2008
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Stylish, deeply flavoured, evenly paced but marginally under and overripened cabernet. Intense aromas of small red and black berries, plums and cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak reveal undertones of herbal and slightly meaty influences. ItÕs long and smooth, plushly fruited and handsomely oaked, with a silky-fine undercarriage of fruit and oak tannins beneath its long and seamless presence of small berry fruit. It finishes with faintly edgy and herbaceous aspects.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2010
    Jeremy’s score 83/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rather baked, varnishy and stripped of fruit, with a volatile bouquet of dried, stewed plums and small berries knit with assertive chocolate/cedar oak. Initially quite cooked, with some jammy cassis, blueberry and mulberry flavour, the palate then thins out towards a lean, edgy and metallic finish lacking in focus and underpinned by raw, gritty tannins.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2012
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2014
    Jeremy’s score 96/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A complete, handsomely oaked and very stylish cabernet blend whose dusty, faintly herbal and leafy bouquet of cassis, mulberries, cedary oak and a hint of mineral precede a shapely and artfully structured palate of strength and drive thatÕs quite saturated with plush and evenly ripened fruit. Fullish to medium-bodied, itÕs finely balanced and underpinned by fine, kernelly tannins that will help underpin its considerable longevity.

  • Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 1 Cabernet Blend 2015
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Pristine scents of violets, blueberries, cassis and dark plums with undertones of spearmint and smoky mocha oak precede a long, plush but fine-grained palate of power and purity. Supported by a fine, pliant astringency, itÕs artfully made and balanced, finishing with remarkable brightness and persistence.
