Lacking genuine conviction and ripeness, with a lightly oaked, peppery fragrance of sweet red and black berries backed by greenish, vegetal nuances. Forward and juicy, with initially lively blackberry and redcurrant flavours, it thins out towards a sappy and slightly metallic finish.

    Mount Horrocks Shiraz 2012
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Dusty and herbal, with a sweet bouquet of cassis, raspberries, redcurrants, dark plums and fresh cedar/vanilla oak with an underswell of bell pepper and capsicum. Supple and elegant, itÕs medium to full-bodied, with a pleasing length of small red and black berries and dusty oak that finishes with fractionally sour-edged and faintly herbaceous notes.

    Mount Horrocks Shiraz 2013
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Complex and stylish, with a slightly meaty, funky fragrance of blackberries, dark plums, mulberries and fresh cedar/vanilla oak backed by a regional whiff of menthol and lifted by a sweet floral note. ItÕs medium to full-bodied with deep, sour-edged flavours of plums, blackberries and cassis smoothly knit with savoury oaky notes and supported by a fine, powdery spine of drying tannins. It finishes faintly mineral and should become significantly softer with time.

A tight, lean red with an earthy, bony aroma of light plum and red cherry fruit over spicy, fruitcake-like notes of grenache. Sappy, under-ripe notes lurk beneath some meaty, spicy plummy fruit, while the finish is a little mean and ungenerous.

  • Mount Langi Ghiran Billi Billi Shiraz 2002
    Jeremy’s score 82/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Meaty, green-edged and bell pepper flavours provide an obtrusive backdrop to sweet cassis and plum-like fruit. This wine appears to have been made from fruit left out to ripen beyond the vineyard’s ability to photosynthesise, and is given sweetness through smoky chocolatey and vanilla oak.

  • Mount Langi Ghiran Billi Billi Shiraz 2003
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A charmingly spicy and early-drinking shiraz with generosity, softness and structure. Its meaty and slightly peppery scents of dark cherries and cassis reveal musky undertones of cloves and cinnamon, dark chocolate and cedar/vanilla oak. There’s also a suggestion of earth and leather. Smooth and peppery, with pleasingly persistent fruit supported by sweet oak and fine tannins, it finishes soft and savoury.
