Early-drinking and concentrated dessert wine with penetrative, if slightly cooked and varnishy aromas of lemon and pineapple. Forward and toasty, it’s smooth and luscious, but its initial viscosity and juiciness falls away to a slightly leaner, tighter finish than usual.
Vibrant floral aromas of apricot, pear and apple are fresh and vibrant, revealing a very low level of volatility and limey, mineral undertones. Its luscious, juicy and moderately long palate of slightly candied fruit finishes clean and tangy, with a faint herbal edge. Very good, but just lacks the length and evenness of the best years.
Intensely flavoured, smooth and luscious, this very stylish and youthful dessert wine finishes with freshness and brightness. Its limey aromas of white peaches, apricots and minerals have a lifted floral quality, while its unctuous tropical and citrusy palate is backed by a dusty, chalky undercarriage and wrapped up by a clean and balanced acidity.
Slightly candied, with citrus and apricot-like fruit backed by smoky, barley sugar-like undertones, it’s forward and cloying, but dries out a little towards the finish. It’s generous and luscious, but lacks its typical length and exceptional freshness.
Scented with lime juice, lemon sherbet and toasty, buttery undertones, this slightly candied but generous and mouthfilling young riesling delivers a smooth, unctuous palate whose rich and faintly confectionery expression of limey fruit overlies a dusty, slatey texture of chalky phenolics. It finishes very dry, with lingering vibrant flavour.
Deliciously long and fresh, this genuinely varietal late harvest riesling has a delicate, honeyed perfume of pear, apple, lime juice and a chalky hint of mineral. ItÕs vibrant, fresh and luscious, but retains an elegant line of fruit and acidity that draws it along the palate over a faint chalkiness and towards a fresh, clean and tangy finish.
Spicy and floral, scented with aromas of apple, pear and lemon zest backed by a hint of barley sugar and a mineral aspect, itÕs very sweet, forward and faintly candied, with luscious, but tightly controlled and even citrusy fruit finishing with freshness, balance and bright, lemony acids. ThereÕs a hint of wet crystal and mineral about the finish, which has a savoury, bathpowdery aspect.
Vibrant, sweet and finely balanced, with an intense bouquet of honey, pear and apple over undertones of caramelised sugar and a sweet floral lift. Long and deeply concentrated, itÕs tightly focused and fruit-driven, with a pure, sweet core of fruit extending alone a fine, chalky undercarriage towards a tightly balanced and focused finish of bright lemony acids.
An intensely flavoured and finely crafted expression of this wine from a warmer vintage. Its concentrated fragrance of lemon and orange rind, peach and apricot, apple and creme caramel reveal a faint spiciness, while its luscious, juicy palate of vivacious citrus, stonefruit and barley-sugar-like flavour extends long and generous towards a very sweet finish. It just lacks the tightness and freshness of the very top vintages.
