Plump and slightly spirity, there’s a boiled lolly note to its vibrant plum and blackberry flavours, while firm tannins and cedar/vanilla oak are tightly balanced. A slightly earlier harvest might have made a good wine better.
Very stylish, harmonious Coonawarra cabernet whose delicate, dusty aromas of cassis and mulberries, dried herbs and cedar/vanilla oak precede a fine and willowy palate. Underpinned by a spine of powder-dry tannins, it’s long and integrated, delivering a fine length of vibrant small berry flavours.
Classic cooler-season Coonawarra cabernet with wonderfully deep scents of cassis, plums and cedar/chocolate oak over lightly herbal and dusty, leafy nuances. Long, smooth and fine-grained, the palate is stylish and structured, presenting intense, vibrant cassis, mulberry and plum flavours harmoniously balanced with fine-grained oak and tight-knit firm tannins.
A fine, tightly focused Coonawarra cabernet likely to age well. Its dusty perfume of violets, cassis, cedar and vanilla overlies some complex and gamey oak-derived aromas. Smooth and silky, its long and fine-grained palate delivers a lingering core of intense cassis, blueberry and dark plum flavour tightly knit with cedar/vanilla oak and framed by firm, powdery tannin. It finishes long and dusty, with undertones of dried herbs and dark olives.
Handsomely backed by dark, toasty, smoky oak, this sumptuous and cedary cabernet carries its 15% alcohol surprisingly well. Scented with dark plums, berries and cedar, with underlying meaty complexity, it’s smooth, even and juicy. Fractionally warm, with a plush, pristine expression of concentrated cassis/dark berry flavour and lightly roasted French oak, it’s framed by firm, smooth tannin.
An assertive, sumptuous cabernet with a dark, cedary bouquet of cassis, plums, black cherries and black olives backed by nuances of vanilla, dried herbs and minerals. ItÕs sumptuously ripened, perhaps slightly overcooked and a fraction jammy, with a pleasing length of deep fruit supported by a firm, grainy backbone.
Smooth and juicy but fractionally overripe, this vibrant young cabernet has an intense aroma of plums, blackberries and sweet cedar/vanilla oak backed by suggestions of prunes and dried herbs. Framed by firmish, fine and dusty tannins, itÕs luscious and sweetly fruited, before thinning out a little towards a slightly spirity, meaty and herbal finish.
Sweet, juicy aromas of cassis, raspberries and chocolatey oak with undertones of mineral and cola, mint and menthol precede a generous but slightly spirity palate. Its jammy and slightly confectionary flavours of cassis, raspberries, cherries and mulberries are handsomely backed by cedar/chocolate oak and smooth, polished tannins. Slightly under and over-ripened.
