A minty shiraz whose chocolatey aromas of blackberries, dark plums and sweet vanilla/cedar oak reveal nuances of eucalypt. Smooth and polished, itÕs oaky and full to medium in weight, delivering a pleasing length of dark berries, plums and minerals underpinned by a fine, chalky extract.
A charming, easy-drinking and fruit-driven shiraz whose minty, violet-like bouquet of fresh raspberries, blackcurrants and sweet vanilla oak is laced with notes of cinnamon and white pepper. ItÕs smooth and polished, with translucently bright, jujube-like flavours of small berries deftly knit with fine, gentle tannins and sweet creamy vanilla oak.
A juicy, jammy and sweetly fruited shiraz with a faintly peppery and meaty bouquet of fresh cassis, blackberries and dark plums backed by cedary, chocolatey oak. Initially plush and juicy, it becomes finer and more elegant down its gentle, dusty palate, finishing with sweet fruit and a slight hint of spirity warmth.
An honest, flavoursome and varietal merlot whose ripe aromas of dark plums and blackberries are matched by sweet coconut, caramel and vanilla American oak, with dusty suggestions of mocha, treacle and toffee. Ripe and concentrated, loaded up with sweet charry oak, its palate is intense, moderately firm and reasonably long, finishing with refreshing acids.
Honest, varietal merlot whose sweet aromas of cherries, plums, dark berries and sweet mocha/chocolate oak overlie nuances of mint and menthol. Forward and uncomplicated, its supple palate of lingering sweet fruit is well partnered by smooth vanilla oak.
A raisined and pruney merlot clearly made from stressed or overripened grapes. Its minty, menthol-like aromas rely on creamy vanilla oak for sweetness, while the thick, moderately tannic and dehydrated palate lacks brightness and elegance. No amount of sweet oak could revive these dead grapes.
