Other than a very light sweetness, this is a first-rate wine whose lemony, melon fruit has only the lightest of grassy edges, an attractive mineral quality and is harmoniously partnered with lightly smoky vanilla oak. It’s long and smooth, punctuated with tangy citrusy acids.
A terrific Margaret River blend of some substance, this is a very intense, complex and complete wine whose piercing intensity of lightly herbaceous, gooseberry, lychee and cassis fruit is handsomely partnered with nutty, dusty and lightly vanilla and smoky oak. Ripe, juicy and penetrative, it has marvellous weight and richness, but is fractionally too hot for a top score.
Clean and grassy, with forward gooseberry/passionfruit sauvignon flavours, it’s clean, tangy and citrusy, but lacks any real vitality and complexity. Fractionally sweet, rather simple.
Vivacious, penetrative and herbal aromas of melon, passionfruit and tropical fruits, with a hint of soap and bathpowder. Long, clean and mineral, with a crystal-clear expression of tangy, juicy citrus, melon and gooseberry flavours wrapped up in refreshing mineral acids.
A fine and restrained blend whose pristine expression of lightly herbal and tropical flavours is supported by a fine underlying chalkiness. Lightly dusty, with herbaceous undertones of green beans and nettles, its melon and tropical fruit aromas precede a smooth and fruit-driven palate framed by crisp, tangy acids. Long, elegant and pleasingly intense, it finishes with an appealing austerity.
Tangy and refreshing, this uncomplicated but intensely flavoured blend is spotlessly clean, tightly focused and very contemporary. Its punchy tropical flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit and melon overlie nuances of citrus and pineapple, as well as a dusty, grassy aspect. It’s long and lively, finishing with an attractive austerity.
Dusty, lightly herbal and nettle-like aromas of gooseberries, melon and tobacco reveal lightly grassy, asparagus-like undertones. Smooth and juicy, its mouthfilling and sumptuous palate delivers a lingering core of tropical fruits that finishes with refreshing lemony acids and a lingering grassiness, but just marginally metallic and sweet-sour.
Fruit-focused, taut and sculpted, with a fresh herby and dusty bouquet of gooseberries and lemon sherbet lifted by just a hint of oak. Round and luscious, long and persistent, its intense, pristine expression of gooseberries, melon and lychees is backed by tangy nuances of citrus fruit, culminating in a lean and tightly chiselled finish neatly bound by crunchy acids.
Fragrant and textural, with a scent of white flowers, gooseberries, melon and apple over suggestions of cloves and nutmeg. ItÕs long and elegant, with a shapely presence of vibrant fruit underpinned by a crackly, chalky texture, finishing dry and austere, with a lingering note of lemon rind.
Punchy, brightly flavoured and typically herbaceous, with penetrative nettle-like aromas of fresh lychees, gooseberries and cassis with undertones of passionfruit and dried herbs. Smooth and juicy, with a pristine, vibrant fruitfulness, itÕs long and fluffy with a fine, chalky spine and a bright, lively acidity.
