Give it time.
Luxuriant and stylish, this pristine and translucently clear young chardonnay has a bright bouquet of grapefruit, pear and apple underpinned by nuances of fresh vanilla oak and creamy yeast-derived notes. Long and lustrous, its elegant core of citrus, melon and peach overlies a fine chalkiness, extending with nutty complexity towards a finish of tightly knit acids and savoury notes.
An elegant, finely structured chardonnay whose spicy fragrances of white peach, melon and a hint of pineapple reveals some creamy, nougat-like complexity. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, its bright core of citrus and melon-like flavour, creamy oak and nutty yeastiness extends long and smooth towards a faintly mineral finish of mouthwatering acidity.
Nutty and faintly smoky, this floral and faintly tropical chardonnay reveals scents of citrus, melon and guava. Soft and almost viscous, its long, gentle presence of pear, peach and tropical flavours extends with softness and balance over a pithy undercarriage towards a lingering note of green apple skin.
A fuller, rounder and more viscous expression from this vineyard whose bright core of citrus, apple, pear and stonefruit is lifted by scents of yellow flowers and tightly knit with creamy, nutty and faintly toasty vanilla oak. It’s long and luscious but is wrapped in a bright, refreshing acidity, finishing with a suggestion of umami.
A stellar, evenly paced chardonnay whose fragrance of peach, melon, grapefruit and creamy vanilla oak reveals suggestions of lemon zest, coriander and dried herbs. Building richness down the palate, it’s smooth and creamy, with a pleasingly fluffy core of fruit, nutmeal and cashew that builds towards a baby fat-like richness towards its lingering and precisely focused finish.
A superb, seamless chardonnay whose punchy aromas of yellow peach, nectarine, yellow apple skin and creamy nougat reveals suggestions of lime and ginger plus some artfully restrained nutty oak. Its luscious, mouthfilling palate has a near Grand Cru-like richness and impact, rolling long and measured down a fine chalkiness towards a finish of vivacious acidity despite a full malolactic fermentation. Probably the best white wine from this respected vineyard – time will tell.
