Remarkably good from this vintage Ð medium weight with dusty, cedary and cigarboxy notes and a pleasing length of fruit rimmed by faintly metallic and green-edged acids.
Herbaceous aromas of cranberries and stonefruit with dusty bell pepper undertones precede a thin, rather green-edged palate supported by fine, pliant tannins.
A measured, complete and sumptuous cabernet whose vibrant bouquet of small black and red berries, cedar/vanilla oak and faint herbal notes precedes a polished, elegant and vibrant palate supported by firmish, fine-grained tannins. Pleasing length and drive.
Long term, with great length and restrained power. Dusty and cigarboxy, with a profoundly concentrated small berries and dark plums back by cedary oak and framed by a firm, slightly assertive and unpolished backbone. It just needs more time.
Herbal and jammy, with a ripe, juicy presence of forward berry/plum fruit, cola and dried herbs backed by cedary oak and thinning out towards the finish. Neither complex nor stylish, itÕs just hanging in.
Long and elegant, fractionally too herbal for a higher score, but a fine cooler season cabernet. Smoky, cigarboxy and bacony aromas of pristine small berry fruits and floral notes precede a gentle, polished palate whose intense small berry flavours and restrained cedary oak culminates in a lingering finish of faintly sappy acids.
A fine effort from this cool season whose dusty, herbal bouquet of restrained fruit, cedary oak and cola-like notes precedes a savoury, chalky and moderately long palate underpinned by fine, firmish, chalky tannins.
Strong and deeply ripened, with a densely packed bouquet of dark berries and plums backed by cedar/chocolate oak and a long, firmish and drying palate whose assertive and complete length of fruit delivers shape and focus. It becomes a little leaner towards the finish, but leaves an assertive core of flavour and a lingering hint of soy.
