Very reductive, earthy red with dusty, leafy aromas of red and black berries over sweet cedary oak. Forward and slightly jammy, it presents a soft, almost plump middle of sweet berry fruit before a drying, finely astringent finish with herbal undertones. Lacks its customary palate weight.
A charmingly restrained, vibrant and rustic blend of disarming openness and honesty, ready to drink now. Its gamey fragrance of sweet red berries, cooked plums and restrained oak overlies herbaceous suggestions of menthol and musk, while its smooth and finely balanced palate of peppery fruit and dusty, herbal influences is framed by a tightly knit spine of firm but supple tannins. It finishes with lingering cassis/mulberry fruit with undertones of licorice and cloves.
Dusty, herbal aromas of violets, blackcurrants, raspberries, plums and sweet vanilla oak are backed by slightly cooked undertones of currants and tea leaves. Revealing both under and overripe influences, the palate is moderately rich and long, with herbal, dusty and currant-like characters framed by pliant but slightly sappy tannins and backed by secondary oak. The fruit is beginning to show signs of breaking up.
A charming older style red whose spicy aromas of slightly baked small red berries, currants and vanilla oak overlie nuances of cloves and cinnamon. Smooth and restrained, its palate of reserved but lingering fruit and moderately firm tannin provides structure and substance. It just needs time to develop more complexity.
Ageing and earthy, with a moderate depth of slightly cooked fruit and some greenish snow pea-like undertones, this rather old-fashioned and leathery blend does deliver plenty of generous and approachable fruit and character. It might lack great length and vitality, but is supported by powdery, pliant tannins and finishes with some earthy charm.
Slightly under and overripe, this medium term wine reveals more fruit sweetness and minty flavour with aeration. A dark, leathery and spicy presence of prunes, currants and blackberries reveal some greenish undertones, while fine, supple tannins help to deliver plenty of length. It finishes with spicy notes of licorice.
Reflective of a hot season, with a sweetly fruited bouquet of red berries, red plums and cedary oak backed by dusty, greenish undertones. Medium to full-bodied, itÕs smooth and savoury, with a pleasingly intense core of black and red berries and plums. It finishes slightly angular and green-edged. Marginally under and overripe.
Rustic and meaty, with a smoky, faintly herbal and reductive bouquet whose chocolatey aromas of dark berries and blood plums are backed by nuances of polished leather and spice. Smooth and gentle, its bright, medium to full-bodied palate of juicy plum and berry flavours and reductive, meaty complexity finishes slightly raw-edged with a faintly metallic, herbal extract.
Charming and rustic, this complex and earthy red reveals a musky bouquet whose spicy aromas of black and red berries are backed by nuances of animal hide and farmyard notes. ItÕs full to medium in body, smooth and even, with a rich but gentle expression of spicy, chocolatey and leathery flavour supported by fine, crunchy tannins and extended by its cabernet component towards a long and lively finish.
Ready to drink, with a rustic and rather reductive bouquet of blackberries, polished leather, cedar and white pepper backed by meaty nuances. ItÕs approachable and medium to full-bodied, with a moderate length of black and red fruits already showing plenty of meaty, leathery evolution of flavour, finishing quite lean with faintly metallic edges.
