ItÕs smooth and seamless, with a good, not exceptional length of fiery berry/cherry fruit supported by firmish, powdery tannins, finishing with a faint sappiness and a lingering note of fennel.

Winery
Tolpuddle
Tolpuddle was planted in 1988. It's a small vineyard in the Coal River Valley in Tasmania, a region with limitless possibilities. Planted to pinot noir and chardonnay, it was purchased in early 2011 by the team that owns Shaw & Smith in the Adelaide Hills. From my perspective, the wines have shown a steady development and improvement as the new owners have come to understand the site and its potential. While it has collected a number of significant awards, I firmly believe that Tolpuddle's best days lie ahead.
