Paradise IV Chardonnay 2012

Elegant and sweetly fruited, this pungent and lightly meaty, funky young chardonnay has quite an deep yellow colour and reveals a spicy and floral bouquet of sweet melon, citrus, tropical fruits and vanilla oak backed by waxy complexity. Medium to full-bodied, it’s forward and juicy with an intense core of very closed grapefruit, lemon and stonefruit flavour that slowly extends towards a fine, crystalline, citrus and faintly mineral finish. Let it breathe if you open it now.

Paradise IV
Paradise IV is one of the most sought-after labels in Victorian wine. It sits at the cutting edge of where cool climate Victoria is destined to head -Ę towards distinctive and unique expressions of special terroirs using a carefully chosen marriage of site, variety and philosophy. The Chardonnay is by some margin the finest from the Geelong region while the elegant, medium-weight and savoury Dardel Shiraz is a wine of international stature and greatness. Sadly -Ę to put it mildly -Ę its owners ripped up the vineyard prior to the 2019 harvest. Fortunately, for the immediate future at least, the spectacular 2017 vintage is in barrel and the 2018 wines are happily brooding in oak.
