Neldner Road (Formerly Powell and Son) Brennecke Grenache 2017
$275.00
A tour de force grenache whose heady, floral bouquet of redcurrants, cranberries and blueberries is lifted by scents of violets and red rose petals, revealing notes of charry oak and roasting meats. Long, smooth and luscious, its juicy core of black, blue and red fruits moves evenly down a firmish, drying spine. It’s an emphatic, purposeful statement of variety and region.

Neldner Road (Formerly Powell and Son)
Dave Powell, founder of Torbreck, has re-entered Australian wine, this time with his son, Callum at his side. Since 2014 the company has focused on high-quality sites across both the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley, retaining Dave Powell's dual focuses on Rhône Valley varieties as well as his well known intent to chase elegance, savoury finesse and structure. The new Powell & Son wines combine extraordinary depth of layered fruit, handsome oak and fine textures with the minerality and thoughtful composition associated with the finest wines of Dave Powell's previous existence. But Torbreck these wines are not – there's a distinctly different style here to what Torbreck became. I'm truly excited to get to know these compelling wines.
