Moss Wood Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
A very elegant, measured cabernet whose slightly gamey bouquet of cassis, mulberries, dark cherries and sweet vanilla/cedar is lifted by a floral perfume but also subdued by dull, slightly stale oaky notes. Long and polished, with deep flavours of small dark berries and plums knit with meaty, creamy oak influences and supported by a pliant, powdery undercarriage, it finishes with a cardboardy flatness that robs it of freshness and vitality.

Winery
Moss Wood
Moss Wood occupies a special place in Australian wine. One of the founding vineyards of the Margaret River region, it was the first to establish iconic status, where it was quickly joined by Cullen and Vasse Felix. After some years in which the winemaking and viticulture appear to have lost focus, there are indeed signs of a possible return to Moss Wood's historically expected form. The 2013 Amy's Cabernet Sauvignon has more polish and finesse than several preceding vintages, while the currently available whites from Bordeaux varieties are right on cue.
