Kilikanoon
Kilikanoon deftly marries a number of combinations of South Australian regions and varieties. It is now consistently rated amongst the Clare Valley's finest makers of riesling, leading the way with a leaner, finer and more slatey modern regional style that has since been emulated by a number of makers. Kilikanoon's reds from 2012 hit new heights of elegance and balance. I am particularly taken by the high-end shirazes and beautifully fruited and truly regional Block's Road Cabernet Sauvignon, which is by some margin the best wine I have tasted under this label. One of the greatest semillons ever made in Clare is the 2014 Pearce Road. It's truly exceptional. Many of Kilikanoon's wines have received an upgrade in their star rating over the last 12 months.
