Hewitson Miss Harry Grenache Blend 2007

A rather dry impression of this traditionally spicy and contemporary blend whose musky meaty bouquet of vibrant confiture-like raspberry cherry and blueberry fruit overlies restrained oak and a spicy presence of cloves and licorice Smooth and juicy its supple and savoury with a long plummy and earthy palate framed by fine drying tannins and finishing with savoury smoky and meaty qualities

Winery

Hewitson
Dean Hewitson's wines reflect a technical stability and correctness plus a level of artisanship rare in Australian wine. His wines are so much more perfumed, restrained and elegant than most wines from the Barossa and McLaren vale, but deliver a lustrous intensity that only great vineyards can achieve. There's a true house style here, which is the envy of most small producers the world over. No wines reflect this better than the two mourvŹdres, each of which can produce a fragrance, purity and silkiness more commonly experienced with pinot noir.
