A complete, polished and stylish pinot whose heady, floral aromas of raspberries, red cherries, underbrush and dried herbs reveal a hint of citrus. Charmingly round and generous, its unctuous, measured palate of vibrant red fruits and faintly charry oak extends with remarkable length and movement towards a lingering savoury finish. A significant step upwards for this vineyard from a vintage that proved very challenging to many. Hesket enters the top bracket of Victorian pinot. More herbaceous than when first tasted, but a good wine.

Hesket Estate owns a mature pinot noir vineyard whose wines are elevating in structure and status. Doug Neal, the name behind the wines of the now-defunct Paradise IV vineyard near Geelong has joined the team and with his involvement the wines from 2018 vintage are starting to show some real class.
