Hardys Nottage Hill Cabernet Shiraz 2002

An earthy, rather confectionary riverland red with raspberry and plum flavours. It’s lightly spicy, with some forward plummy fruit, but then thins out to rather a hollow finish.

Winery

Hardys
The flagship brand of Accolade Wines is performing at both ends of the spectrum. The premium Eileen Hardy label represents one of the finest of the more austere, reductive and mineral chardonnays made in Australia, a long-term benchmark McLaren Vale shiraz and Đ of all things Đ a simply brilliant Tasmanian pinot noir. Then add to this the exceptional Thomas Hardy Cabernet Sauvignon. Most of the wine world is focusing on the distinction and power of the great individual site, but the long-established philosophy at Hardys is to explore the synergies of intelligent blending between regions, something it shares in kind with Penfolds. This approach sees this kind of blending amid its premium wines, which also include the HRB collection Đ a range of simply outstanding tables wines blended from some unlikely combinations of regions. While it's hard to imagine consumers actually wondering what a wine blended from some of these diverse sources would actually taste like, their quality is becoming more compelling each and every year.
