Winery

Ferngrove
Now owned by China's Hangzhou Wine Group, Ferngrove is one of Australia's most impressive wine producers. It has struck a formula that enables it to bottle high-quality wine and sell it for a price that must leave competitors wondering how. Its premier wines all retail for less than $30, but easily hold their own against any range within Australia up to $50. As a group, they're pristine and deeply flavoured, made with some real flair and attitude, and are suited to drinking early or after cellaring. The 'cheaper' wines are at least as competitive. The typically mineral 2014 Cossack Riesling shows yet again why this is one of my favourite Australian rieslings.
