A stunningly good, drinkable and affordable chardonnay from the revitalised Dalwood Estate label in the Hunter Valley. Laden with ripe peach, melon, lemon and grapefruit flavour, it’s fragrant and mineral, with artfully knit and faintly smoky creamy vanilla oak with suggestions of coriander and oyster shell. It’s luscious, mouthfilling, long and elegant, with a creamy core of flavour underpinned by a schisty mineral spine. It finishes long, briny and savoury, with a refreshing lemony finish. Much, much better than many a much more expensive Australian chardonnay.
