Slightly confectionary and very oaky, this evolved and rather oxidative style presents a round and juicy expression of nectarine, quince and melon flavour rather assertively backed by butter/vanilla oak and mealy undertones. Punctuated by a taut acidity and finishing with genuine minerality, it does however leave a slight impression of rawness.

Bindi
It hasn't taken long for Bindi to become a signature vineyard. Located on a series of wonderfully sunny cool- climate sites whose varying, gentle but fortuitously directed slopes of grey loam soils have a healthy content of quartz, Bindi can produce pinot and chardonnay of great perfume, purity and texture. Michael Dhillon recently made some interesting name and label changes to his wines, recognising important forebears and contributors to the Bindi name, none of which are more significant than Kostas Rind, Bindi's inspiration and my childhood neighbour. The 2014 wines are exemplary -Ę right on cue.
