A delicious, delightfully balanced medium-bodied pinot which of Village Burgundy quality and character. A musky, floral perfume of red cherries and berries reveals nuances of underbrush, eastern spice and tightly integrated fragrant oak. Long and savoury, supported by fine, pliant tannins, it's fleshy and generous, with suggestions of smoked meats and a hint of toasty oak before tapering nicely towards a lingering savoury finish.

Eastern Peake
Second generation winemaker Owen Latta has found a very comfortable space with the Eastern Peake wines from 2021 and 2022 that provide more than sufficient reason for me to suggest that Eastern Peake is now a name to look out for. It's a small winery near Ballarat n Victoria that sources fruit from its own estate and neighbouring properties. Principally focused on the Burgundian varieties, it is proving capable of very fine pinot noir and chardonnay. Watch this space.
