Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2018
$53.00
Smooth and supple, this gentle and artfully balanced Chianti Classico reveals a faintly meaty fragrance of red and black cherries, blood plums and citrus oil lifted by a whiff of exotic spice and a scent of dried oregano. ItÕs medium in weight, delivering a juicy core of red and black berries, cherries and a hint of redcurrant that moves with smoothness and plushness down a fine, dusty spine. ItÕs long and very complete, finishing quite savoury with a lingering note of dark chocolate and citrus bitters.

Winery
Isole e Olena
Isole e Olena, one of the icons of Tuscan wine, was created by Paolo De Marchi towards the south-western part of the Chianti Classico region since the 1950s with the joining of the historic Isole and Olena estates located towards the south-western part of the Classico region. Today it comprises 48 hectares under vine, largely producing two wines: the benchmark Chianti Classico and the flagship Cepparello - a sangiovese aged in 100% French oak. In 2022 it was acquired by the EPI Group, owners of Charles Heidsieck champagne and Biondi-Santi in Montalcino.
