Heathcote Winery is shiraz and viognier specialist with more experience than most Australian wineries in the art of using viognier to add complexity and lift to shiraz without making it patently obvious that they have done so. The current releases lack their customary attention to detail, with fruit of less than ideal composition and oak that tends to stand out, rather than integrate.
