Warrenmang Grand Pyrenees Cabernet Blend 2002

Rustic, meaty and earthy, this robust, drying and slightly unpolished red blend needs time for its palate-staining array of minty dark berry and plum flavours to integrate with its firm rod of kernel-like tannins. There’s a hint of menthol and iodide beneath its concentrated and meaty flavours, while the finish reveals a note of onion skin. (

Winery

Warrenmang
Warrenmang is a mature vineyard at Moonambel, in VictoriaŐs picturesque Pyrenees region. Its rustic, powerfully ripened reds are typically firm and intense, with regional characteristics of mint and menthol. Experience suggests that at around five years of age, the wines tend to smooth out and settle down. One wine that needs no smoothing out whatsoever is the rather incredible, luscious and silky-smooth The Miracle blend of shiraz and cabernet varieties from 2008 (96/100, drink 2028-2038), which despite its 15% alcohol is simply remarkable for the illuminated qualities of its fruit and its rare degree of elegance.
