Paringa Estate The Paringa Pinot Noir 2006
A handsomely oaked and ripened pinot, with a slightly candied expression of cherry, berry and plum-like fruit with just a hint of currants cloaked by slightly varnishy chocolate, vanilla, mocha and chestnut oak. Supported by fine, sandpapery tannin, it slowly reveals layers of sumptuous fruit and a pretty, floral perfume, delivering length and depth of fruit before a fractionally edgy and metallic finish. It should be substantially smoother after another year or so.

Paringa Estate
Paringa Estate has made a name for its deeply ripened, coloured, dark-fruited and spicy Pinot Noir, and its fragrant and peppery Shiraz, both of which have traditionally been given generous treatment in new oak. There has been a steady movement in style at Paringa across both reds and whites towards a more integrated fusion of fruit, tannin and oak.
