A superb, firm and assertive, genuinely Bordeaux-like merlot revealing a perfect balance between fruit and structure, oak and texture. Deep aromas of dark, ripe cherries, dark plums and fresh cedary oak are lifted by scents of dark blue and black flowers, revealing notes of mineral and gravel, cigarbox and blood plum with breathing. Initially quite fine and silky, its long, smooth and polished palate delivers remarkable plushness and texture, becoming firmer with time in the glass. Driving long and complete, it’s a remarkable marriage of varietal purity and flavour, with everything in perfect place to cellar for decades.
