Chateau de Rayne Vigneau
A justifiably famous and sought-after Premier Cru in Sauternes whose wines were rated second only to Chateau d'Yquem just 200 years ago. Its 84 ha of vineyard are planted to 74% semillon, 24% sauvignon blanc and 2% muscadelle. The wine is aged in 50% new oak for around 18 months. Around 10,000 cases are produced. Today it's a mid-priced Sauternes that typically offers rare fruit intensity and length.
