You are invited to the launch of Jeremy Oliver’s new edition of The Australian Wine Annual in Melbourne

Jeremy Oliver has a few things to celebrate this year. Not only has he produced the first ever wine guide written in Mandarin specifically for the China market, Oliver also marks 25 years of writing about wine at the official launch of the 2010 edition of The Australian Wine Annual. He will launch the 13th edition of this best-selling guide to Australian wine at his newly renovated offices, The Bakery, for a tutored wine tasting of 12 of Jeremy’s best wines of the year, with carefully chosen cuisine. Featuring twelve of the highest-scoring wines from the 2010 edition, a highlight of this launch will be the presentation of the ‘Wine of the Year’ and acknowledgement of the other nine finalists. This event provides wine enthusiasts with a unique forum to hear from Jeremy, how he chose the finalists, how he selects his Five Star wines and how the Australian wine industry has changed during his quarter-century as a wine critic. Sporting a brand-new design and feel, the 2010 edition of The Australian Wine Annual is Jeremy Oliver’s twentieth book. It takes the hard work out of choosing the best Australian wine since it selects only the very best of Australian wine at each price-point. So, for a winery to be one of the 300-plus featured in this title is itself a significant achievement. The 2010 edition features nearly 13,000 wines, each of which Jeremy personally tasted. It features professional tasting notes of more than 1200 new releases, plus commentary on wine trends and the issues facing Australian wine. Jeremy Oliver is one of Australia’s foremost wine commentators and ambassadors. He regularly travels internationally to promote Australian wine to overseas markets, especially around Asia. This year he published the first-ever guide to (Australian) wine in Mandarin, a book that is now being reprinted before its second edition in 2010. A regular contributor to wine-related publications all over the world, he is also Australia’s foremost wine presenter with a regular presence on Australia’s Business Channel on SKY. Jeremy Oliver looks forward to sharing a special evening with Australian wine enthusiasts. With 25 years as a major presence in the wine media, he has plenty to talk about!
