Penfolds recently collected two important overseas gongs, at both Italy and Hong Kong. At the recent Vinitaly event it was awarded the prestigious Vinitaly Award for spreading a quality reputation for the wine industry, following such names as the Wine Spectator magazine, Chateau Margaux, Robert Mondavi and Vega Sicilia (Spain). Quite possibly the wine’s best vintage ever, the 1996 Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon won the ‘Wine of the Fair’Award at Winpac 2000, Hong Kong.
