Only one percent of the 28,500 visitors who attended Wine Australia at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre last year were tee-totallers, according to event organisers. Wine Australia attracted 23,700 on public days and around 5,000 trade, including 290 international visitors, 98 of which were from New Zealand. Research company Brian Sweeney & Associates anticipates that around four in ten of all public visitors will buy more wine after the experience.
