The Oldest Medicine of All!

Straight from the Why Bother? file comes news that a researcher from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology claims to have created a white wine packed with more health benefits than French red. Professor Michael Aviram is shortly to take the wraps off his new kosher white, which he says contains more health-promoting chemicals than its French red alternatives. He’s managed use alcohol to extract and introduce more flavenoids and oxidants into his kosher white, which has doubtless also been given a shot of ascorbic acid so he can say it’s vitamin enriched as well. Apparently the first wine has an alcoholic strength of 16%, yet still packs a pile of residual sugar. So not only will it reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer, but it will simultaneously destroy your liver and rot your teeth quicker than standard wine! That, of course, is provided you can drink it. I’ll bet the Bordeaux smart set are wobbling at the knees.
