Swords, the Melbourne wine merchant which introduced the swingtop concept to buying inexpensive quality Australian wine, has turned ten. The business, whose trademark recyclable and returnable house bottle has inspired a number of others to sell wine in a similar way, sources wines from several Australian regions, from makers large and small. Swords’ bottles come in three sizes: 375 ml, 1 litre and 2 litres, and each carries a fully refundable deposit.
