[question] Question submitted by Anthony Babiolakis, Australia Have you tasted or reported on any of the shiraz coming out of Domaines Tatiarra up in Heathcote. The reports are excellent, but my palate seems to go along with yours particularly with shiraz and I would be interested in hearing your comments. [/question] [answer] The only wines I have tasted from this label are from the 2002 vintage. Each of the three wines, the Cambrian Shiraz, the Trademark Shiraz and the Caravan of Dreams Shiraz Pressings, showed some merit in their winemaking, but had been cooked in the vineyard, the latter especially. All were very alcoholic and as a consequence, out of balance. The fact that they were so hot remains something of a mystery to me, since 2002 was the coolest vintage experienced in the region for some years. Anyway, I wrote the wines up on this site and haven’t been sent a tasting sample since. Unless the style has changed, and I have little reason to believe it has, I would probably draw similar conclusions concerning the more recent vintages.
