Pauletts Andreas Shiraz 2010

Elegant and finely balanced, this deeply flavoured shiraz has a spicy, sweetly oaked and faintly minty bouquet of cassis, blackberries, briar and chocolate/vanilla notes backed by a ferrous, mineral aspect. ItÕs full to medium-bodied, with a luscious, pastille-like core of cassis, blackberries and dark plums and newish chocolate/mocha oak framed by tightly knit, sandpapery tannins that finishes long and lingering with a brightly lit acidity.

Its trio of finely crafted, elegant rieslings represent the real strength of the brand, while the rich and deeply flavoured Andreas Shiraz is typically firm and cellarworthy. The reserve level Antonina Riesling has now hit a very high level of quality for two consecutive seasons, elevating Pauletts into the region's elite with this signature white variety.
