Wild and briary slightly cooked and meaty with a floral perfume of plums and blackberries already revealing leathery bony nuances Its forward and generous with a slightly raisined expression of dark berries and plums but underneath theres a fine drying spine that supports a sound length of fruit sweetness and dark chocolate oak Finishing savoury it should emerge over next the few years with more richness and texture

Winery
Hewitson
Dean Hewitson's wines reflect a technical stability and correctness plus a level of artisanship rare in Australian wine. His wines are so much more perfumed, restrained and elegant than most wines from the Barossa and McLaren vale, but deliver a lustrous intensity that only great vineyards can achieve. There's a true house style here, which is the envy of most small producers the world over. No wines reflect this better than the two mourvŹdres, each of which can produce a fragrance, purity and silkiness more commonly experienced with pinot noir.
