Deep, dark and alluringly fragrant, with a whiff of spearmint and and scent of violets, this smooth, generous and distinctively Great Western shiraz is made from a handful of vines planted in 1878. Sumptuous, evenly paced and satiny, but with surprising layers of structure and depth of flavour, this medium-bodied red delivers a generous, explosively flavoured dark-fruited palate underpinned by fine, almost mineral tannins. It finishes quite dry and savoury, with lingering notes of blueberries and black licorice.
