De Iuliis
De Iuliis is an exceptional maker of more mineral, savoury, attitude-packed Hunter shiraz and an emerging producer of fine, streamlined chardonnay. There's been a reshuffle in the company's labelling structure, which has seen a Shiraz replace both the Charlie and the Reserve Shirazes from 2010. The 2013 reds are very fine and perfumed, with intense small fruit and floral characters, but also just a faint herbal thread that might become more pronounced. I'm particularly taken by the style and focus of the Sunshine Vineyard Semillon, especially the shape and intensity of the excellent 2011 and 2014 releases.
