Bindi Dixon (Formerly Composition) Pinot Noir 2011

A very stylish, Burgundy-inspired young pinot likely to flesh out over the short to medium term. Its sweet, musky and floral fragrance of reserved cherry/berry fruit knits with fresh, creamy vanilla oak, while its supple, restrained palate is likely to develop neatly from its youthfully lean, rather sappy and greenish status.

Bindi
It hasn't taken long for Bindi to become a signature vineyard. Located on a series of wonderfully sunny cool- climate sites whose varying, gentle but fortuitously directed slopes of grey loam soils have a healthy content of quartz, Bindi can produce pinot and chardonnay of great perfume, purity and texture. Michael Dhillon recently made some interesting name and label changes to his wines, recognising important forebears and contributors to the Bindi name, none of which are more significant than Kostas Rind, Bindi's inspiration and my childhood neighbour. The 2014 wines are exemplary -Ę right on cue.
