Bindi Block 5 Pinot Noir 2011
Very youthful, elemental and slow to develop, this long and intensely flavoured pinot has a delicate musky, floral and spicy bouquet whose scents of dark flowers, red cherries and dark berries overlie nuances of cloves and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, its smooth and silky, with a gentle, seamless presence of vibrant cherry and raspberry flavour knit with fine-grained oak and underpinned by chalky tannins. It finishes with a hint of fragility, but with length and savoury qualities. It will slowly evolve and flesh out.

Winery
Bindi
It hasn't taken long for Bindi to become a signature vineyard. Located on a series of wonderfully sunny cool- climate sites whose varying, gentle but fortuitously directed slopes of grey loam soils have a healthy content of quartz, Bindi can produce pinot and chardonnay of great perfume, purity and texture. Michael Dhillon recently made some interesting name and label changes to his wines, recognising important forebears and contributors to the Bindi name, none of which are more significant than Kostas Rind, Bindi's inspiration and my childhood neighbour. The 2014 wines are exemplary -Ę right on cue.
