If you’re drinking lighter, fruitier, softer reds, they might be best and more refreshing with a small chill. If, however, you’re talking about full-bodied and full-flavoured red wines, it’s perhaps wise to remember that this rule of thumb originated in Europe where, broadly speaking, room temperature is likely to be lower than in Singapore. My only concern is that if you need to bring the temperature of the wine down significantly to do this, it might well be stored too warm in the first place.
