    Balnaves Chardonnay 2002
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A sweet, forward and generous chardonnay ready to enjoy. Its toasty, buttery fragrance of peachy melon fruit, grilled almonds and wheatmeal reveals honeyed and butterscotch-like undertones with sweet vanilla oak. Round and juicy, it’s honeyed and toasty, with its peachy fruit and creamy texture perhaps slightly overawed by powerful butterscotch-like malolactic influences.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2003
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Long, flavoursome and focused, this tangy and polished chardonnay has a floral aroma of quince, melon and cumquat with undertones of honeysuckle and fresh oak. Its smooth and spotlessly clean palate of sweet citrus and melon flavour is harmoniously integrated with creamy oak, finishing with lingering flavours of lemon zest and white peach. Significantly better than most chardonnay from this region.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2004
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A well-made, smooth and savoury chardonnay that just lacks in genuine fruit brightness. Its slightly cooked, citrusy aromas of cumquat and quince overlie vanilla and clove-like oak, with undertones of butterscotch. Medium in weight, it’s dusty and herbal, with lemon/grapefruit flavours finishing dry and nutty.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2005
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Smooth and creamy, this long, evenly balanced and elegant chardonnay marries a slightly funky and leesy expression of white peach, stonefruit and melon with slightly meaty undertones and vanilla oak. It’s backed by suggestions of cloves and cinnamon, with a savoury wheat biscuit-like quality. If finishes long and smooth, with soft acidity.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2006
    Jeremy’s score 86/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Waxy, dusty aromas of peach, melon and mango with meaty, leesy undertones precedes a rich, broad and chewy palate whose nutty stonefruit flavours finish quite savoury but lacking in freshness despite the presence of a crisp acidity. Rather overworked for its depth of fruit.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2007
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

An early-drinking, floral and bacony chardonnay whose reserved peach and melon flavours are coupled with smoky vanilla oak and backed by spicy, nutty nuances. ItÕs generous and creamy, medium to full-bodied, finishing rather tart and austere with bracing acidity.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2010
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Long, oaky and mineral, this young chardonnay already reveals spicy, lanolin-like and waxy development, and should flesh out with pleasing richness and texture. Wrapped in fresh acids, its ripe, tangy presence of melon, citrus and peachy fruit is knit with dusty, clove and vanilla oak, finishing slightly spicy and savoury.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2011
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A pleasing shorter term wine whose spicy, oaky bouquet of peach, pear and melon fruit reveals creamy, leesy and slightly funky undertones. Long and even, its creamy palate of bright melon, nectarine and tropical fruit flavours and matchstick/vanilla oak finishes quite savoury, with smoothness, a fine underlying slatiness and a hint of mineral.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2012
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very smoky, with oaky aromas of peaches and creamy vanilla oak backed by notes of lanolin, cloves and cinnamon and a powerful presence of butterscotch and candied sweetcorn. Rich and toasty, with flavours of burned sugar and a persistent core of melon/peachy fruit, it leaves me with an indelible impression of Frosties breakfast cereal and of Tony the Tiger growling ÔThey Great!Õ. So much for sensible wine commentary, but itÕs a fact.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2013
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A complex, heavily worked chardonnay that needs time for its fruit to flesh out. Its closed but faintly mineral aromas of white peach and melon are assertively backed by mealy vanilla oak, while its lightly spicy palate of peach, nectarine and melon reveals meaty, waxy development before finishing with bitey, tangy acids.

    Balnaves Chardonnay 2014
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Spicy and creamy, with a complex, waxy bouquet of nougat, hazelnuts, sweet oak and honeysuckle. Elegant and savoury with a generous depth of melon, peach and creamy, nutty undertones, it finishes with soft but refreshing acids and a hint of nougat. I doubt chardonnay could more resemble white Turkish Delight.

Balnaves Entav Clone 2 Cabernet Blend 2017
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Juicy, medium-term, round and generous; pastille-like mulberries, cassis, redcurrants and blood plums knit with cedary oak and fine, powdery tannins, finishing with suggestions of licorice and gravel.
